Dormer Windows
Dormers are usually created to provide additional headroom and floor space as part of your loft conversion. This type of roof extension is usually carried out when there is limited space within your loft to begin with. A small dormer might be required to provide additional headroom to allow for the rise of the staircase within the loft or sometimes a larger, full width dormer may be created to provide a great deal more usable floor area.
The size of the dormer, or dormers, is usually dictated by not only the size of your existing loft space but also by how many rooms you would like to gain from within the loft. The more rooms that you would like then the more floor space we need to create which may mean that a larger dormer is created.
In every case, a full loft survey is required to ascertain just what can or cannot be achieved.
